The Boathouse at Fletcher’s Cove is located in Washington, D.C. between Key and Chain Bridges, 2.5 miles northwest of Georgetown along Canal Road at the western end of Reservoir Road. Entrance and exit is through a one lane driveway parallel to the wall along Canal Road and adjacent to the large white stone house known as the "Abner Cloud House."
Note! Canal Road east of the train trestle is one way east-bound Monday through Friday morning rush and one way westbound in the afternoon rush. During the time frame 6:15 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. Monday through Friday, Fletcher's can ONLY be accessed two ways:
1) Take the Clara Barton Parkway (exit 41 of the Capital Beltway). This is the Carderock Glen-Echo exit. At the first traffic light go straight onto Canal Road (a three-lane road). Stay in right lane and go under train trestle through next light. (Now a two-lane road). Travel four-tenths of a mile, put on right turn blinker, at slight bend in road pull into space on side of road at white stone house, then back down driveway.
2) Cross Chain Bridge, (access from the south on Glebe Road, 120 North in Arlington, or from the west on 123, Chain Bridge Road, from the Tysons Corner/Mclean/Langley area). After crossing Chain Bridge, turn right in right hand lane, travel one-third mile and follow directions from train trestle above.
